Upcoming Wedding

We are gearing up for tomorrow’s wedding, which will be held at The Acorn Theater. The reason that we are so excited is that it promises to be a totally unique, vaudeville-burlesque style wedding. Also, it’s in our hometown, Three Oaks Michigan, 2 blocks from our home. How cool is that! Three Oaks is only 7 miles from the Lake, and has a super cool, laid back vibe, beaming with culture and creativity.

If you happen to be in town, here are a few spots that I would highly recommend…. One is B Books. Owned and operated by the multi talented Rick Tuttle. You can find Rick reciting poetry, amongst his art work and rare books, hosting parties at his bookstore, particularly on the third Saturday of the month when all of the shops and galleries are open late. If you’re in the mood for a movie, try The Vickers Theater. The theater was built in 1890 and has been lovingly restored by Jon & Jennifer Vickers. Stop in for coffee at Froehlichs and enjoy bread made from scratch, preserves, jams, fruits and vegetables, delicious sandwiches, soups and salads. If you’re a meat lover, check out Drier’s Meat Market. Passed along for three generations, this butcher shop has the feeling of its original heritage, dating back to 1875. There are a couple of art galleries that are definitely worth checking out, showcasing various mediums from around the world… Blue Gallery, Gallery H, and Studio B. Three Oaks even has its own radio station, 106.7 WRHC Radio Harbor Country.

Oscars At The Drake

Last Sunday, we photographed an “Oscar Party” hosted by The Drake Hotel in Chicago. What a blast! All of the Chicago fashion set, ultra chic, came out for the event. The atmosphere of The Drake can be summed up in to two words “real Chicago”. The Drake opened their doors in 1920. A true Chicago icon, rich in history and refined service, located on The Magnificent Mile.

“Joan Rivers” was in attendance for red carpet interviews, everyone struck a pose…

The fresh cuisine was elaborately displayed, representing each particular nominated movie. Delicious, I must say. The champagne flowed as guests watched the Oscars on large screens that were randomly placed to view the show.

The event was sponsored in part by KUONI DESTINATION MANAGEMENT, and PSAV, The main décor sponsor was Ronsley, and the ice sculptures were created by Art Below Zero.
